Blessed

Saturday started the same class at 9am and then football game at 1pm. Well, this Saturday I was surprised and made me feel so blessed that I have people around me that truly love and appreciate me. So, this is how it begins...

After the game I told my husband that I was hungry let's eat (by this time it's 4pm). Hes like ok we going home. We get home and he keep prolonging to feed me. (ok I'm a cry baby when I'm hungry and like don't neglect me) We now downstairs and legit bout to have a tantrum when there's a knock at the door. I look at my husband cuz nobody shows up without announcing themselves 🤨 I answer it and its my S.I.L (Dena) with bags of food and she said surprise. Then a couple seconds later my B.I.L (D) pulls up with flowers, balloons and presents. They surprised me with coming over to make me a Mother's Day dinner and chill. My husband kept the secret he almost slipped up a couple times but I'm so proud of him for keeping it. Dena and D went to the kitchen and started making Lobster, rice, broccoli and pork chops even had the kids helping them. We had such a good time and like I said I'm blessed that I get along with my in-laws.

Coming to an end

As we get closer to finishing this semester I have mixed emotions. One I'm excited to be done and accomplish another goal towards my degree. Second I'm going to miss this class and Professor Wu. He really is here for his students and wants us to succeed and all his hard work is definitely not unnoticed. Thank you for spoiling us and being patient and understanding that life happens and giving me the extra push I needed when I was feeling defeated. I want to wish everybody the best with your journey and hope you all get what your setting out to do.

Tournament

I missed class this past Saturday due to my sons flag football tournament. We had to be there at 730am to check in the team at the same time. First game started at 9am last game ended at 1pm. Teams in each age group had to play 3 games every game you won you advance to the next level. They lost all 3 games but still had fun. Kyan made 4 touchdowns total. The tournament was sponsored by Subway so all the players got lunch sub, chips, cookie, water. There was games set up to win prizes. Kyan won 2 Raiders hats, Raider arm sleeve, sunglasses, 5 football cards and a mouthguard. All the players received a Raiders jersey. Overall his first experience he had a really good time. He now plays for both teams 10U and 12U.                          

Tomorrow not promised

Thursday (4-21-22) morning at work my manager gets a text message "Alfa is dead" (Don't text somebody this, call them and show some respect) and she looks at me and my coworker and said, "Is this a joke"? Told us what it said, like that was it no other words so we looking like WTF. She steady calling the number and they not answering. She finally like its from a motorcycle accident. Alfa just got it 3 weeks ago. So we all in disbelief and couldn't process it at first and then it hit and I just started crying like I just seen him yesterday and now he's gone??? I collected my self and tried to get lost in my work. A couple hours later my manager come out and says Alfa committed suicide. As soon as I heard that I had to walk outside it felt like I couldn't breathe. Let me tell you Alfa was always happy and positive. NEVER not one time an attitude nothing. His energy just made you smile. Nobody knew, we didn't even know. It makes me sad that I work with the same people every day, see them more than family and we don't even know each other. I promise anybody can come to me no judgement and talk, if you feeling some type of way tell somebody anybody. You cant back from death and nothing I mean nothing is worth your life.

6.8.2 Advanced Media Formatting

What I learned with Advanced Media Formatting is how to link to external media, apply color corrections, compress media, trim media timing and adjust start and stop times. I have not been able to use this outside of class, but I do plan on using it in the future.

SPRING BREAK 🙌🙌

FINALLY WE MADE IT !!!!!! 

I HOPE EVERYBODY HAS PLANS OR GET SOME RELAXATION IN. ok ok NOW YOU GUYS KNOW I HAVE PLANS SO HERE WE GO. MONDAY THRU WEDNESDAY NORMAL WORK REAL LIFE STUFF (BORING). THURSDAY THRU SATURDAY WE ARE GOING TO LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA. WE FOUND A LOT OF CHEAP FUN THINGS TO DO WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK CUZ YALL KNOW WE PARENTS ON A BUDGET.

Woah life

This past week has been WOAH. It's been nonstop with work, practice, appointments... Averaging 4 hours of sleep a day. I attempted the MOS excel and failed twice like legit couldn't focus or remember anything. The same at work was forgetting or making minor errors but errors none the less. Simple house upkeep turned nonexistent. My body been telling me all week get some rest but nope didn't listen till Thursday night. My youngest was off Friday and usually I just bring him to work with me, but I was like no I need a day off. So, Friday, I took off from work got up early cleaned up my house, finished washing, folding and putting away all laundry (if you're not a parent you won't appreciate the victory with this) and caught up on homework (I wasn't behind but not where I wanted to be). I'm going to spend this weekend on getting some rest and doing practice test for MOS Excel so I can pass because I do know this. Semester is almost over, and I refuse to fail right at the end.

5.7 Using Advanced Functions

I NEVER KNEW HOW MANY FUNCTIONS THERE WERE THAT COULDVE MADE MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER. I HAD SOME TROUBLE WITH IF AT FIRST AFTER DOING IT A COUPLE TIMES IT BECAME EASIER FOR ME. EXCEL IS HELPING ME WITH WORK SINCE MY PROVIDERS LOVE SPREADSHEETS (EVEN THO THEY DONT UTILIZE THEM).

CAN WE TALK ABOUT COMMUNICATION FOR A MINUTE. WHEN I SIGNED UP FOR FOOTBALL IT WAS 200 TO GET HIM REGISTERED AND VERIFIED. I SPOKE WITH THE COACH AND AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS THRU THE SCHOOL SINCE COACH JARED IS AT MY SON SCHOOL (WHEN MY OLDEST PLAYED IT WAS THRU THE SCHOOL) ANYWAYS SO AFTER SIGN UP I WOULD GET A TEXT FROM "TEAM MOM" WITH EXTRA FEES LIKE WHAT??? SO YESTERDAY I HAD TO PULL THE TEAM MOM TO THE SIDE AND ASK HER WHATS UP WITH ALL THESE EXTRA FEES LIKE LEGIT I FELT I WAS BEING SCAMMED OR SOMETHING CUZ SHE DOESNT TALK TO ANYBODY AND THE ONLY TIME SHE TEXTS ME WAS ABOUT SOME MONEY. WHEN MY SON PLAYED FOR THE SCHOOL IT WAS 1 FEE AND YOU DONE. AFTER OUR CONVERSATION I FOUND OUT THAT THE FEES IS LEGIT FOR THE LEAGUE AND A JERSEY. EVERYTHING ELSE THEY ASK THE PARENTS FOR HELP CUZ THE COACHS ARE VOLUNTEERS. I GET THAT AND DONT MIND HELPING TEAM BUT A LITTLE MEETING WITH THE PARENTS TO EXPLAIN AND ASK QUESTIONS WOULD BE BETTER AND HELPFUL FOR PARENTS NEW TO THE WORLD OF SPORTS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL.

Decision made

So after thinking everything through and legit reorganizing my life. Kyan will play football but for only 1 team. I have to be realistic and realize that 2 teams is not gonna happen, Football is a legit full time job and I'm definitely not a "sports mom". I want to give my kids every opportunity at life. Its not their fault I decided to go to school late in life. Anything is possible if your ready to put in the work.

Omg!!! What do I do????

My youngest been wanting to play football and Coach Jared from his school been asking me since the 3rd grade (he's in 5th now). I said not this year maybe next. Well then, I started feeling guilty like if I can make time for school and multiple jobs, I have to make time for my kids interests as well.

We signed him up and his first practice was Saturday at 4. He had so much fun, and the coach called me after practice, and he wanted to know if he can join 2 teams. He told me to let him know on Monday at practice. My answer is absolutely not like that's crazy. that's 2 practices and 2 games. Legit he's 10. I'm so proud that they see his potential but it's too much. He would practice 3 days a week mon and wed 4pm-6pm and Saturdays would vary (husband will take him if I have school). I'm starting to feel guilty again by saying no to both teams. Like am I holding him back from something that he could be really good at? or am I putting too much not only on me but my family as well (we have 3 kids total)?

Here's my schedule I work full time mon-fri 6am-3pm, school 2 classes, 1 in person, work part time Allegiant Stadium. Husband works full time mon-fri 7am-330pm, part time mon-thur 5pm-11pm and part time Allegiant Stadium (we only doing major events, concerts)

What would you do? Am I wrong saying no?

4.12.9 Applied Lab: Prepare an Online Resume

I've been writing my own Resume forever, but never used the table way. Usually I just used a template and just filled in my information. Going forward I will build my own Resume because I can add my own personality to it. At the end of the day employers just look at a paper and continue about their day so if I can add my personality, I think that would help. What I learned in this class I will be able to use outside of class. From now on I will use what I learned when I apply for another job.

Introspection

Why am I taking IS101-3010, Spring 2022?

I took this class as a pre req to get into my major. I am learning a lot that I can use outside of the classroom when I graduate. 

What are my proudest moments in class?

My proudest moment is how far I have come in this class. I had fun presenting my presentation on the 90s. It's been a struggle managing this class with everything else, but I know it will be worth when I pass this class.

Cali mini trip

My sister-in-law graduated on Friday, welcome the newest CNA in California. I'm so proud of her and her journey. When she told me I wouldn't miss it for the world. I'm blessed to be close to my in laws. The plan was to fly out Friday morning (missed flight cuz my husband doesn't listen to me) So we had to jump in the car and made it to cali at 2pm her graduation started at 3pm. We couldn't get our money back on the flight or rental so out $225 but We made it tho yayyy and was worth the smile on her face. When i tell you this graduation was ghetto this guy threw stacks of money into the crowd, hit the lady in the back of her head (she was ok). Afterwards we went to Fixins Soul kitchen. This place is so bomb. Your drink is either red or blue Kool-Aid, for dinner I had smothered chicken with mac n cheese and candied yams. I Wil definitely go back. We drove back Saturday afternoon.

2.2.5 The Windows 10 Operating System

What I learned about Windows 10 Operating system is user interface. The start menu is the main control center interface. The task bar contains quick launch icons. Desktop contains icons and files. Windows Controls allows you to manipulate open windows on desktop.

My experience

The helicopter ride and dinner is highly recommended. You start off at the restaurant and its a 3 course meal. My husband chose the salad for appetizer, main course steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. For me I chose Salad for appetizer, main course I had Chicken sandwich with fries. For dessert we both shared a fudge brownie with ice cream on top. We then get picked up from the restaurant and taken to 5 star helicopter. When you get inside and check in you get a glass of champagne and then got to take a picture. You then wait in the lobby and they call a group of people and you go into another room. They go into detail how the process will go and safety features. This was a first time experience for my husband and I. When you get in the helicopter and start going up you have butterflies of nervousness. All of that disappears when you get all the way up and see the view, OMG its so beautiful. You view the whole strip and fly above all the casinos. The flight wasn't that long but felt forever and I didn't want it to end. Afterwards they take you back to the restaurant. It was a nice birthday and excited for new experiences.

1.2.8 Microsoft Edge Facts

This topic and skill that I learned was how to navigate thru Microsoft Edge. Before I took this class, I always used Google Chrome. It goes over basic features of the browser. Such as tab refresh, address bar, hub, make a web note, share web note, restore. Alot is the same as Google (that I'm used to). What was new was make/share web note. As I continue to proceed in this class, I'm eager to learn more.

My Birthday

My birthday is January 26 which was Wednesday. I walked into work and my desk was completely decorated with a birthday vibe banner with chocolate kisses spread across my desk and I even had a birthday sash with a crown (which I wore all day). For lunch my office surprised me with canes yummm. Around 2pm my husband called and was like come down stairs. When I walked outside he had a beautiful bouquet of flowers, huge balloon that looked like a birthday cake with candles, and a card. Legit had tears in my eyes, simple things make me happy. After work we went to outback steakhouse for dinner. Later that night, my best friend ever, sent me my gift. When I tell you I cried with excitement omg!!! She got me a dinner and helicopter ride over the strip (I'm doing that tonight), I feel so blessed and loved by everybody around me. I couldn't ask for a better day and amazing people around me.

My first impression of CSN is, this is the beginning of my new life. I decided to come back to school 14 years from graduating high school. I went in blind and just figured out everything by myself. At first it was overwhelming, but after I wrote down steps and completed them in order I was able to successfully become a CSN student. I first enrolled for Sonography but after 3 semesters I changed my degree over to HIT (Health Information Technology) I have my degree in Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. I just want to build onto my degree I already have. I'm excited to start my new journey and evolve.
